Adams to play Joplin in biopic?
Amy Adams could be playing Janis Joplin in a forthcoming biopic, according to reports.
Precious filmmaker Lee Daniels is "in talks" to direct the drama, titled Janis Joplin: Get It While You Can, which would focus on one day in the late singer's life, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The film, which has been written by producer Ron Terry and his wife Theresa-Kounin Terry, is being independently financed, but the producers are thought to be keen to start soon.
Known as the Queen of Rock and Roll and the Queen of Psychedelic Soul, Janis died in 1970 from a drug overdose at the height of her fame.
She rose rapidly in the 1960s with hits like Summertime, Piece Of My Heart and Me And Bobby McGee.
Amy, who last starred in The Muppets, will next be seen in On The Road with Viggo Mortensen, Trouble With The Curve opposite Clint Eastwood and Justin Timberlake, and The Master alongside Philip Seymour Hoffman.
The Oscar-nominated actress - who gave birth to daughter Aviana in 2010 - is also set to star in Zack Snyder's Superman reboot Man Of Steel, Andrew Levitas' comedy drama Lullaby and Spike Jonze's romance Her.
