Matt LeBlanc has been labelled a "creep" by Twitter users for his joke about Game of Thrones' star Emilia Clarke.

The Friends star has come under fire for his comments about the English actress' nude scenes in the HBO show.

Both Matt and Emilia were speaking to each other via a live E! News TV feed at different sections of the red carpet. They were asked by hosts Jason Kennedy and Giuliana Rancic about a selfie they'd taken earlier this year (Emilia had called meeting Friends' Joey a "bucket-list accomplishment" in the accompanying Instagram post).

Things were going well until Jason as they shared the usual celebrity banter but then they got incredibly awkward very quick when Matt joked about wanting to see Emilia naked on screen.

When asked if he was a Game of Thrones fan, he replied: "I saw the first season then fell out of touch with it."

Matt then followed it up with a comment that was more fitting to Joey Tribbiani: "And then I guess that was when she [Emilia] started getting naked so I need to catch up.”

Emilia handled it well by joking that she wasn't sure that he had ever actually seen Game of Thrones — and that she doesn't remember ever seeing him get naked on Friends.

On Twitter fans were slightly creeped out by Matt's joke.
