Lunchbox: The Pizza Factory

89 lower gardiner street, dublin 1. TEL: 01 8044456

The Cost: €9.95 for any personal pizza, side order and soft drink.

The Look: One of the oddest places I've recently visited. You get buzzed in through a hostel reception and it opens up into an unexpectedly bright and spacious restaurant that is utterly empty at 1pm on a Monday.

The Goods: Standard range of pizzas with lots of good-value deals, including a buy one get one free special on weekdays. They also do a lunchtime range of oven-baked subs for €4.99 including soft drink.

The Bad: The wait. Pizzas are normally fast food, but not here. Mind you, they do offer free delivery, so maybe that might be the wiser option.

The Result: The side of fries is measly and doesn't add much, but the pizza itself is crammed with flavour, lots of toppings and a nice base that isn't too bready. Definitely worth a return, though next time I will get them to deliver.

The Grade: B
