WE'VE all been there -- watching TV with your parents when an unexpected sex scene crops up. Awkward.

So no wonder actress Aoibhinn McGinnity was left red faced watching the season finale of Love/Hate with her parents.

In the closing scene, Trish (McGinnity) and Nidge (Tom Vaughan-Lawlor) share a moment of passion.

"I actually watched it with my family, I had to leg it into the other room when that scene started," she told The Herald.

"Seeing it back is a bit embarrassing. I just shouted at them -- 'It's Trish, not me'."

"It probably didn't take people by surprise, but it was a little bit uncomfortable. I think that's the way it was meant to be."

While watching the sex scene was an awkward experience she said filming was surprisingly easy.

"It was fine to film. You're comfortable with Tom, he's such a pro and so respectful as well," she said.

"We just did it, there was no big deal made out of it."
