Justin Bieber arrested in early hours in Miami for drunken drag racing
Justin Bieber is allegedly in police custody after being arrested for DUI.
The 19-year-old singer has been in Miami with friends recently as he takes time out from his music career.
According to TMZ he was taken into custody in the US city early this morning.
Law enforcement officials apparently informed the website Justin was "busted in Miami Beach for both DUI and drag racing".
It is alleged Justin remains in custody at the moment. He is apparently at a police department awaiting tests, thought to be to determine his blood alcohol level.
"His next stop will be jail, where he will be booked and processed and bail will be set," reports the site.
The Canadian heartthrob had reportedly been partying at a nightclub shortly before his arrest. He was driving when he was stopped by cops, reportedly for drag racing. After he was pulled over it is claimed police suspected he was driving under the influence.
No further details are known at the moment.
This is the latest in a string of controversial incidents involving the teenager. He has been accused of drug use and racing his car around his gated community in Calabasas, California. Then last week his mansion was raided by police who were looking for evidence that he was involved in an alleged egging incident on his neighbour's home, resulting in $20,000 damage.
His mother Pattie Mallette has admitted she regularly prays for the star, while there are reports his team - including his manager Scooter Braun - want him to check into rehab.
