WRITER JK Rowling has admitted that hero Harry Potter should have married Hermione Granger.

Instead, she was paired off with Ron Weasley, as fans of the hugely successful franchise will know.

And it was the romance that many Harry Potter fans had wanted to see.

She also admitted that as a couple, they are not a credible one.

“I wrote the Hermione/Ron relationship as a form of wish fulfilment," she said in a rare interview.

"That’s how it was conceived, really.

"For reasons that have very little to do with literature and far more to do with me clinging to the plot as I first imagined it, Hermione ended up with Ron.”
