RTE's Jennifer Maguire has revealed how her radio co-hosts were with her as her daughter was born by emergency Caesarean section.
The presenter said five-week-old Florence “is great” and loves her grub and sleep, but admitted she anything would make her cry now.
The Republic of Telly said it was great to have a break, but she revealed her breakfast republic co-hosts Bernard O'Shea and Keith Walsh were not too far during the birth.
“When I was in there, unfortunately I had to have an emergency section at the end of it, I was in the theatre and I thought ok, focus, don’t think about the radio show, don’t think about anything,” said Jennifer, who
“Then this face comes towards me. A nurse with a mask on her said: ‘I listen to your breakfast show every morning’.
“So the lads were actually with me.”
Jennifer – who was honoured at the Style awards last weekend – appeared on tonight’s Late Late Show with Darren Kennedy to talk about their new show, The Unemployables, aired on RTE 2 on Thursday nights.
She said she could not believe how young people out of work “did not have a clue” about how to get a job, while others had no role models came from generations of unemployment.
Jen said she was pregnant while filming the show with her face was getting bigger and bigger as she “waddled” around the country.
