The Leinster rugby team forgot their woes as they hung out at the rapper's Dublin show last night.
The rapper may not have completely sold out Dublin’s O2 last night, but the crowd who made it to see the New York rapper were thrilled by the electric atmosphere, and despite the Sunday night slot there was a real party vibe in the air with everyone on their feet throughout.
The Leinster rugby team were in the audience, led by Jamie Heaslip, who named his pet dog after the rapper.
The hip hop mogul last played the O2 alongside sometime collaborator Kanye West as part of their Watch The Throne tour, but this time took to the stage solo to promote his latest relase Magna Carta.
However, he was more than able to command the stage alone and had the crowd eating from the palm of his hand from the second he appeared.
Accompanied by producer Timbaland on the decks, Jay barely left the stage during his almost two hour set, and played hits from throughout his stellar career, from Hard Knock Life to No Church In The Wild and his latest collaboration with Drake, Pound Cake.
Decorating the stage with Irish flags thrown up by ardent fans, Jay took time to turn the house lights on and single out individuals for a personalised shout out. And of course, he declared Ireland to be one of his favourite places to play in the world.
The megastar will take up a four night residency at London’s O2 arena next.
