Reports say heartbreak is in store for Dublin girl Melanie McCabe after she misses out on the live shows.
If this is the case, it will be the fourth time that Melanie, from Whitehall in North Dublin, will have missed out on the live shows of the talent series.
The 20-year-old has made it as far as the judges' houses section - but it's been reported that judge Nicole Scherzinger will opt to send her home.
Melanie had been tipped by the bookies to do well in this series - but if reports are to be believed, she will face further heartbreak in tonight's instalment.
It's understood that after featuring in the judges' houses section, Melanie flew home to Dublin where she was met by her mother.
She was confident that she had done all she could to land a place in the live shows.
However, it's understood the shows bosses contacted her upon her arrival in Dublin, and told her she was out.
The Whitehall native blew away the judges in her previous bootcamp round when she sang an emotional rendition of Katy Perry's The One That Got Away.
Nicole told her: "On your previous performances I wasn't sure I felt it, but you had me on this one."
However, Melanie faced stiff competition with the girls category, tipped as the most talented in this series of the ITV and TV3 show.
The last time the Dubliner got to the judges homes stage of the competition in Miami in 2011, she was sent packing by Kelly Rowland.
Melanie has said that if she fails on this occasion, she will give up her X Factor dream.
The youngster appeared to handle her nerves well despite having the tough task of impressing both Nicole and her sidekick, world famous singer Mary J Blige.
The judges' homes round of the competition will be aired tonight and Melanie is the last remaining Irish hope.
