BRESSIE has fired warning shots at fellow ‘Voice of Ireland’ judge Kian Egan ahead of the show’s battle rounds, branding the former Westlife star ‘an eejit’.
The Mullingar man, who is preparing for the release of his second solo album, said: “There’s nothing put on for the cameras, [Kian’s] that much of an eejit in real life.
“If you sit in a room with Kian, you’ll see it’s just the way he is”, the singer told Dublin rock station Phantom 105.2.
Many viewers may want to smack Egan, dubbed the panel’s ‘Mr Nasty’, for his harsh comments towards contestants – Bressie insists he’s never been tempted.
“Some people would prefer me to slug it out with him but I won’t do that – I’m a pacifist”, he said.
It also appears unlikely the two will sort their differences through a duet together, with Bressie joking: “Would I have him in my band? Absolutely not. Not a chance – you can’t have blonde hair and be in a metal band.”
Despite Kian grabbing the headlines for dubbing Bressie ‘a doughnut’ – the former Blizzards lead singer actually thinks of it as a term of affection.
“I like knowing where I stand with someone and I like knowing he thinks I’m a doughnut – but I mean, how could it not be a term of affection? Never trust anyone who doesn’t like doughnuts.”
Although Bressie may not be a fan of his fellow judge - it appears his mother is.
He said: “[Kian] calls girls babes. He called my mam babes when he met her – she was literally smiling for two months after”.
