Irish sweetheart Amy Huberman is set to feature in eerie family film Ghosthunters: On Icy Trails.
The 34-year-old actress joins the team for filming in mainland Europe to take part in the adaptation of Cornelia Funke’s bestselling novel ‘Ghosthunters and the incredibly revolting Ghost!’
For her part in the upcoming spookfest, Amy becomes Emily, a receptionist at the the Central Ghosthunting Institute (CGI).
Directed by Tobi Baumann, the crew includes German comedienne Anke Engelke and “averagely spooky ghost” Hugo.
Filming is currently taking place in Vienna, Austria but further shooting will be taken in various locations across Germany.
The family-friendly thriller will take viewers on adventure with the unlikely trio: slimy Hugo, his young friend Tom, and cantankerous ghosthunter Hetty.
Hetty Cuminseed has just lost her job at the CGI, and is enlisted by Tom and Hugo to teach them the basics of hunting ghouls.
The Irish Film Board, Bord Scannan na hEireann has assisted with funding for the project.
Amy has stayed away from the film set since giving birth to baby Sadie last February.
However, the IFTA award winner (for her role in Rewind) has also filmed two episodes for the second season of Chris O’Dowd’s Sky hit ‘Moone Boy’ last year which have yet to be screened.
The Irish actress also received an IFTA nomination for her portrayal of 'Elaine' in Stella Days.
