Who knew they were friends? Golden Globes host Amy Poehler attended the ceremony solo, so she made the most of her tablemate Bono when it came to marking her Best Actress win in memorable fashion.
The comedienne (43), who was hosting the ceremony with Tina Fey, was seated at the same table as U2's Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen Jr.
And when she was announced as the Best Actress in a TV Musical or Comedy for Parks and Recreation, she was so excited that she planted a kiss on the Dublin superstar (53). The pals were playing it up for the cameras as Bono even massaged her back in jest as they announced the nominees in her category.
Bono's wife Ali Hewson was seated on the other side of her husband and was seen laughing along with the joke.
Poehler gave an incredibly short speech, simply saying: "I never win, so I cant believe I won."
The hostess stunned in a black slinky Stella McCartney gown, outshining most of the nominees on the red carpet.
U2 were the men of the night with Bono pictured soaking up the atmosphere throughout the evening and won Best Original Song for Ordinary Love in Mandela: Long walk to Freedom.
Meanwhile, Irish actor Michael Fassbender lost out on the Best Supporting Actor role for 12 Years a Slave, despite the hype around his high profile role. Instead, Jared Leto took home the gong for his part in the Dallas Buyers Club, which saw co-star Matthew McConnaughey take home the Best Actor award.
It wasn't a complete loss for Fassbender though as his film took home the award for Best Picture (Drama).
Castleknock native Colin Farrell, who presented an award last night, attended the precursor to the Oscars with his sister Claudine and avoided being snapped at any after parties.
In a surprise win, last year's awards season darling Jennifer Lawrence won the Best Supporting Actress award for American Hustle, while co-star Amy Adams won Best Actress and the film overall won Best Picture (Musical or Comedy).
Leonardo DiCaprio won Best Actor (Musical or Comedy) for the Wolf of Wall Street and Cate Blanchett won Best Actress (Drama), with Best Director going to Alfonso Cuaron for Gravity.
As usual, the Golden Globes are one of the ultimate nights of style on the Hollywood social calendar and Michelle Dockery's Oscar de la Renta, Sofia Vergara's Zac Posen and Zoe Saldan's Prabel Gurung are just some of the the stars featuring on the best dressed list.
Dressing your bump was one of the themes of the night as Scandal star Kerry Washington proudly showed off her growing baby bump in a custom-made cream Balenciaga gown, Drew Barrymore went for a flower power look in Monique Lhuillier, while Olivia Wilde was simply sensational in a sequinned Gucci dress.
