Viral PC hit Space Engineers to launch exclusively on XBox One

The spaced-based sandbox game Space Engineers is to debut exclusively on the XBox One for the period of one year.
The game, which became a viral hit on PC via Steam Early Access will be released for Xbox One through the ID@Xbox self-publishing program.
It will remain exclusive to the console for a period of twelve months.
Xbox announced the news at Gamescom 2014.
Space Engineers is a space-based sandbox game with survival gameplay in Survival mode. Players build and maintain space stations and ships in an asteroid field. Gamers engage in all aspects of space living from resource management and construction to protective combat. All objects in the game "can be assembled, disassembled, damaged and destroyed".
The CEO of Keen Software House said they are "really excited" to bring the game to a "new audience". “With the power of Xbox One, we will be able to offer all of our features with amazing multiplayer options. We expect the Xbox community to unleash amazing creations and astounding worlds that we can’t even imagine.”

Keen Software House is an independent game development studio established in 2010, specialising in games "based on real science, real facts, real physics and real emotions". Their first title, Miner Wars 2081 launched in 2012. Space Engineers is the first title by the company to fully utilise Keen Software's own in-house gaming engine VRAGE, currently in it's second version.
