Fans of the Sims can now play the game on Mac after EA announce release date for Mac version of Sims 4.

One of the biggest criticisms of the game following it's worldwide release for PC was the fact that EA had "no plans" to release a Mac version of the game.

The Sims 4 for PC was launched in September 2014 and, at the time, EA had "no plans" to release a Mac version.

In an apparent about-face, the company will now release a Mac version for the same price as the PC version - and existing owners of a PC version will receive the Mac version for free.

There will be no discs available - the Mac version will be available to buy and download exclusively online, and the company have confirmed that you will be able to import your existing games from PC to Mac.

EA have also released an 'Outdoor Retreat' expansion pack for the PC version of Sims 4.
