Nothing really to report from the agm CBAI last week.
After a very thorough report from CEO Paul Porteus interspersed by some hilarious stories, everything went smoothly - including the take-over by Freda Fitzgerald from the highly successful outgoing president, Fearghal O'Boyle, with Pat Duff standing by for 2016-17. After that we had a well-attended open pairs in aid of the Alzheimer Society.
The first Dublin Summer Congress kicks off with mixed pairs at Citywest Hotel this Friday. Then we have congress, Area Master, Inter A, Inter B and novice pairs at 1.30pm on Saturday, ending with Congress, Area Master, Inter A and inter B, plus novice teams at 11am on the final day. And, of course 6S goes down on a H lead. But the printout says 6S makes from the S hand. Yes, but it doesn't say how you get S to play it. If anyone can suggest how you manage that, let me know.
