Minecraft: Story Mode begins next month
The first episode of Minecraft: Story Mode from Telltale Games will be released next month. Check out the trailer for more information about the game.
Telltale Games will release the first of five episodes from Minecraft: Story Mode on October 13th.
It will be released on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 initially. The iOS and Android versions will be released two days later on October 15th. And Wii U and Vita versions are planned, but no release date has been set.
There will also be a physical version of the game released on October 30th that acts as a season pass. The disc includes the first episode of the story, while owners will be able to download future episodes as soon as they’re released.
Minecraft: Story Mode features an excellent cast. The first season features contributions from Patton Oswalt, Brian Posehn, Ashley Johnson, Scott Porter, Martha Plimpton, Dave Fennoy, Corey Feldman, Billy West, and Paul Reubens.
In Minecraft: Story Mode, players will “embark on a perilous adventure across the Overworld, through the Nether, to the End, and beyond. You and your friends revere the legendary Order of the Stone: Warrior, Redstone Engineer, Griefer, and Architect; slayers of the Ender Dragon.”
“While at EnderCon in hopes of meeting Gabriel the Warrior, Jesse's friends discover that something is wrong... something dreadful. Terror is unleashed, and you must set out on a quest to find The Order of the Stone if you are to save your world from oblivion.”
It’s a very different take on Minecraft, so it should be intriguing to see how the universe and Telltale’s storytelling approach interlink.
