Science Gallery to screen film that puts gaming community under the microscope
The Science Gallery in Dublin will play host to a screening of GTFO, which puts the gaming industry under the microscope, on October 15th.
Dublin’s Science Gallery will screen GTFO, a film that explores the gaming industry and community, on October 15th.
The film shines the light on an industry that is “riddled with discrimination and misogyny.” There are interviews with video game developers, journalists, fans, and academics, which paint a complex picture of the industry while revealing the systemic and human motivations behind acts of harassment.
Among those interviewed are Anita Sarkeesian, Maddy Myers, and Brenda Romero who give their insight and share their experiences.
GTFO was featured at this year’s Galway Film Fleadh and has been highlighted in USA Today and on Last Week Tonight with John Oliver.
Tickets are currently available from the Science Gallery. Interested attendees are advised that pre-booking is essential.
