Rene Russo is the latest star to join the cast of Kenneth Branagh's Thor.
The 55-year-old actress has signed up to play Frigga, wife of the Norse god Odin, played by Sir Anthony Hopkins in the film adaptation of the comic book, Variety reports.
Frigga is stepmother to hero Thor - played by former Home And Away star Chris Hemsworth - and his evil brother Loki, played by Tom Hiddleston.
The Marvel movie is about a partly disabled medical student who discovers his alter ego is Norse god Thor.
I Am Legend's Mark Protosevich wrote the script, which sees Thor wield his mighty hammer Mjolnir and travel from his mystical home of Asgard to help the humans of Midgard.
Branagh is due to begin directing the action blockbuster in January and Paramount is set to release it in May 2011.
