Oscar does lap dance for Bullock

Wednesday November 25 2009

Oscar Nunez said performing a naked lap dance for Sandra Bullock in Hollywood blockbuster The Proposal was less pressure than long division.

The American Office actor plays a bumbling minister, an out of control stripper and a dozy waiter in the chart-topping romcom.

But Oscar said stripping for one of Hollywood's best-known actresses is all in a day's work: "There was no pressure; for me pressure is numbers, if you ask me to do long division that's pressure, not going on set and doing a silly dance."

Cuban-born Nunez cited British comedian Rowan Atkinson as the inspiration behind his latest film role.

He said: "I remember watching Four Weddings And A Funeral and Rowan Atkinson played the part of a minister and it was a small part but he was so funny. When I read the script for The Proposal I saw it was also a small part but there was enough meat on the bones to do something with it."

And the British connection doesn't end there. His favourite comedy shows are The Rise And Fall Of Reginald Perrin, Monty Python, Absolutely Fabulous and, of course, The Office.

But Oscar had less faith in his American remake succeeding. He admitted: "There was no pressure. I thought we would fail.

"Then I heard Steve Carell had pulled out of another project and was the lead and that they weren't going to have a laugh track and Greg Daniels was staying true to Ricky Gervais' vision... then I thought we had a chance."

:: The Proposal is released on Blu-ray Hi-Def Combi Pack and single disc DVD from November 30.
