Fishburne heading to The Colony
Laurence Fishburne has been focusing on his movie career
Laurence Fishburne is apparently in "final negotiations" to star in sci-fi thriller The Colony.
The Matrix actor is said to be considering a role as a survivor who has to sit out an ice age, while fending off an invasion from feral cannibals, said The Hollywood Reporter.
Gossip Girl actor Kevin Zegers is also in line to join Jeff Renfroe's Canadian film, but the rest of the cast list is being kept under wraps.
Production is scheduled to start in Toronto later this month.
Laurence, who appeared in crime series CSI: Crime Scene Investigation from 2008 until last year, has been focusing on his movie career, having recently appeared alongside Matt Damon and Kate Winslet in Steven Soderbergh's Contagion.
The Oscar nominee will play Daily Planet editor Perry White in Zack Snyder's Superman reboot Man Of Steel, which is due for release in June 2013.
