What a difference 12 months can make.

This day exactly one year ago, New Orleans Rose Molly Molloy Gambel had the “jitters” ahead of appearing on stage for the Rose of Tralee.

But little did she know that her then boyfriend Kyle Catlett was equally nervous.

As we all know, Kyle proposed to long time love on stage.

The clip featuring the proposal was the ‘most-watched’ moment ever for the festival.

Molly’s shock eventually gave way to a delighted ‘yes’ – and the couple married on May 24 in Alabama.

Now the newlyweds are back in Tralee – and both are far more relaxed this year.

The couple told independent.ie that their wedding day was “phenomenal”.

“It was phenomenal. We got married at Fairhope, Alabama at Sacred Heart Church, on Mobil Bay where Molly grew up, going [there] during the summers and I visited there several times while we were dating and we just knew that that was the place.

“About 200 to 300 family friends to celebrate with us,” a delighted Kyle explained.

“It’s great to be back here in Tralee where it all began,” Molly said.

“I’m most definitely calmer this year just because I’m not going on stage with the jitters and all that. I’m sure Kyle feels that as well,” she laughed.
