In a year when the competition courted more controversy than arguably any other, McEldowney walked away with the crown.

There were hoop dances and fire starters on show, but it was the teacher from Chicago who wowed the judges most with her rendition of 'Make the Shamrocks Grow.'

Wicklow Rose Jane Harrison lightened the mood when she revealed that she has a tattoo on her bum that reads 'we are all mad here', however tonight's show didn't match the more boisterous mood of the first night.
