Launching the Limerick Jazz Festival – at which Van Morrison will be one of the stars – were Bryan Meehan and Stevie Griffin of the Limerick Jazz Society.

GLOBAL jazz star Van Morrison will make a rare public appearance in Ireland next month after the Limerick Jazz Festival secured its biggest ever coup.

Now in its third year, this year's Limerick Jazz Festival will reach new levels to mark the city's National City of Culture designation with a line-up that also includes multi Grammy award-winner saxophonist David Sanborn. The city will swing its way through the weekend of September 25 to 28 as one of Ireland's leading jazz music festivals attracts thousands of fans.

The Festival has been organized by the Limerick Jazz Society, which has been keeping the jazz flame burning in the city for 32 years.
