Stradbally sunshine awaits Electric Picnic revellers - and the Lake is open!

Blue skies and sunshine are beaming down on Stradbally as thousands of Picnickers are descending onto the Stradbally Hall estate.

The first swimmers have taken a dip in the Lake.

The new swimming area, surrounded by a copse of ancient oak and ash trees, will allow Picnickers to cool off after lugging their camping gear through the site.

Adults can participate as long as they are competent swimmers, while kids can splish and splash when accompanied by a responsible adult who can swim, organisers say.

To reach The Lake, follow the signposted riverside path leading from the Jimi Hendrix Campsite area daily (see times below). Straight from Rio 2016, Picnic lifeguards will be on duty to watch out for everyone’s safety over the course of the weekend.

So put the towel down and take a dip.

Opening times:

    Friday: 2pm -5pm FAMILIES ONLY / 5.30pm-7pm ADULTS ONLY

    Saturday: 10am-1pm FAMILIES ONLY / 1.30pm-7pm ADULTS ONLY

    Sunday: 10am-1pm FAMILIES ONLY / 1.30pm-7pm ADULTS ONLY
