GIOVANNI Trapattoni may have to wait a little while before he can call on his services, but two-year-old Kai Rooney looked every inch a future striker as he proudly wore the Irish kit yesterday to celebrate St Patrick's Day.
The tot's mum Coleen Rooney picked up the outfit when she was in Dublin last week doing promotional work for her bikini line, and posted the photo of the little lad yesterday on Twitter in the full football kit.
She tweeted: 'Happy St Patrick's Day!!!! Top of the morning to ya!!!' along with the photo of Kai posing with a football. His dad may play for England but his mum has Irish roots, with Coleen's maiden name being McLoughlin.
Coleen whose paternal great-grandfather was from Co Mayo was accompanied by her mum Colette in Dublin this week. They took some time out to enjoy a pub trip from where Colleen posted a pic on Twitter of them enjoying a pint of Guinness.
The Liverpool family have strong Irish connections, Coleen has spoken before of their Catholic faith and she has accompanied her parents on trips to Lourdes with her younger sister who has Rosie, who has Rett syndrome.
Coleen clearly enjoys dressing her son up - she has previously tweeted pics of him as Santa's little helper at Christmas, as a Harry Potter Wizard and as Woody from Toy Story at Halloween.
