We're not over this year's Electric Picnic yet, but one of the festival organisers, Melvin Benn, has already announced that tickets for next year's event are to go on sale this coming Friday.

He said: "We want to announce as of now, that tickets are going to go on sale from Friday morning at nine o'clock. The ninth at nine o'clock.

No acts have yet been announced, but Mr Benn said that he will be increasing some of the prices for next year's festival.

"The same loyalty program will go in. It will be the same principal. I'm going to increase the price of the loyalty tickets by €5."

He also said that next year's festival will not get any bigger, with 55,000 tickets being allocated and the day ticket will remain a 'Sunday only' option.
