More than a dozen Roses from all over the world visited Croke Park yesterday, where they got the privilege of raising the Sam Maguire and Liam McCarthy cups.

The official countdown to the 2015 Rose of Tralee International Festival will begin today when the 32 contestants - representing Ireland, Britain, the United States, Australia, mainland Europe and the Middle East - meet presenter Dáithí Ó Sé before travelling to Tralee on Friday.

Other iconic venues they will visit along the way include the Guinness Storehouse, Newbridge Silverware and Lough Rynn Castle, Co Leitrim. The international festival runs from Friday to Tuesday and will be televised next week.
