THE long-running music festival Oxegen will not take place this year.
Promoters MCD confirmed the news in in a short statement on the festival's website.
"It is with regret that MCD announce that OXEGEN will not take place this year due to lack of suitable Headline Acts which combined with the financial demands by local agencies make it no longer viable to stage the Festival in its current form," it said.
The event didn't take place in 2012, but returned last year. However, the emphasis was firmly switched to dance acts and DJs, with the event in Punchestown in Kildare headlined by David Guetta and Snoop Dogg.
