Music lovers descend upon Stradbally for #EPFestival2014

These early birds are hoping to get the best pitch.

Electric Picnic opened this morning to welcome festival-goers.

Some 41,000 people will attend this year’s festival – and these people will be hoping by arriving early that they will get the best spot for their tents.

Music lovers have been warned to be well-prepared for the three-day event, as Met Eireann has forecast scattered showers for tonight.

So if you haven’t left home yet for Stradbally, you have been warned….

Blondie and the Pet Shop Boys will be taking to the stage tonight.

Those planning to watching Saturday acts such as Hozier, Paolo Nutini and Portishead can expect mostly dry weather, with a few showers.

Sinead O’Connor, Beck and Outkast will take to the stage on Sunday when temperatures are expected to be in their 20s.
