Indie rock group The National has congratulated the couple who got engaged during the band's set at the Longitude festival.
The reveller surprised his girlfriend on Sunday night by getting down on one knee and producing an engagement ring – albeit, one made of tinfoil.
As the American indie band offered a rousing rendition of their 2014 single ‘I Need My Girl’, the young man was inspired to pop the question.
The entire proposal – including his girlfriend’s shocked reaction – was captured on video.
Last night, The National tweeted their congratulations.
"Great move, Eddie! (She said yes)," the band said while including video footage of the proposal.

In the clip, the young man can be seen kneeling on bended knee while his girlfriend’s face changes from initial disbelief to delight as she realises it’s no joke.
