DELORENTOS, Seo Linn, and The Riptide Movement are among the bands headlining a new summer festival focusing on the Irish language, music and culture.
Ravelóid will take place at Ardgillan Castle in Dublin on 10 and 11 June next, and will also feature Ham Sandwich, Kíla, Heathers, Mundy, Hot House Flowers, Altan, Bréag, Mo Hat Mo Gheansaí, and TG Lurgan, among others
2fm drivetime presenter Eoghan McDermott was at the launch of the event in Dublin tonight.
“Ravelóid is definitely shaping up to be the most exciting addition to the Irish festival scene in years," he said.
"What better way to celebrate the Irish language and our history as a country than a céilí at 3am in a forest after seeing The Riptide Movement, Seo Linn and so much more live on stage?”
It will be the biggest Irish language event of the Ireland 2016 Centenary Programme, and organisers say it will be the first ever summer festival putting the Irish language and culture at the centre of a dynamic mixture of contemporary and traditional music, comedy, dance, literature, discussions, workshops and more.
More acts will be announced at www.raveloid.ie in 2016.
