Bon Iver announced as first headliner for Forbidden Fruit
The band will curate Monday night's Forbidden Fruit bill
Bon Iver has been announced as the first headliner for Forbidden Fruit festival.
The Grammy-winning indie-folk project, led by Justin Vernon, will headline Bank Holiday Monday night with a 90-minute set.
This will be the band's first show in Ireland since selling out The O2 in 2012.
Bon Iver’s third full-length album 22, A Million was released in Ireland in September of this year, hitting the number two spot in the Irish charts and receiving huge critical acclaim.
Promoters POD say Bon Iver will also curate the line-up on the Monday, with Flying Lotus (who will play accompanied by a '3D show'), Lisa Hannigan, The Staves, Gordi and Paul Thomas Saunders all set to play.
The full line-up will be announced next year.
Next year's Forbidden Fruit will run between Saturday June 3 and Monday 5. Limited 'early bird' weekend and three-day tickets for the festival are already available.
Tickets for the Monday event will go on sale from 9am on Monday, priced at €59.50.
