Anyone heading to Electric Picnic this year will have the chance to dance their socks off inside an abandoned swimming pool.

DJ Lifeguard Tower will pump out tunes for any revellers who head to “The Bold mOTel” at the festival.

The Bold mOTel, which kicks off from 1pm on Saturday and Sunday, will launch with a party on the Friday night from 7pm.

Motel "guests" will be able to take part in activities like lip sync battles, and a host of well-known DJs will take to the poolside decks.

The Reception and The Bedroom will open their doors on a first-come-first-serve basis, from 1pm to 3pm (Saturday and Sunday).

Those who arrive early enough will be given their very own room keycard and a party time-slot. Only pre-booked* appointments will make it through the doors beyond that point.

A fully stocked bar and a jam-packed programme of activity is promised by Orchard Thieves, who are responsible for the "mOTel".

Festivalgoers can book/schedule private parties at The Bold mOTel by either:

Arriving early at The Bold mOTel;

Texting: Room keys will be placed outside random tents in the campsite, inviting the occupants and their friends to text The Bold mOTel receptionist and book a room for a private party.

Tweeting: Electric Picnic attendees can try their boldest efforts on social media for a chance to book a private party.
