A €5,000 grant for artists to display their work at Electric Picnic is up for grabs now

Kathy Armstrong

A bursary of €5,000 is up for grabs for four lucky visual artists to display their work at Electric Picnic, as the D.I.V.A programme returns for a second year.

D.I.V.A. ( Diverse Individual Visual Artist)  is the festival's funded Artist In Residence Award & Bursary and the prize will be split between the four winning artists, who will then be able to exhibit their work to the 55,0000 revellers at the festival.

The festival returns to Stradbally in Co Laois between September 1 and 3 and the organisers are calling artists to submit  work they've already produced and re-imagine it for the unique event.

Those chosen will live and work onsite for the build phase of the festival and they will use this time to adapt their work.

They will work with the event organisers to make sure their piece suits the festival, their art must be fully installed and completed by August 25.

Applications are open until noon on May 30 and those interested are urged to email photos and a description of their existing piece, a short description of how they would adapt it, plus a short biography of the artists background and experience.
