Anchorman star Will Ferrell has told Independent.ie of his excitement at returning to Ireland for his film premiere here.
"I don't think I've ever had a movie premiere here, so I'm really excited we were able to do this," he told us on the red carpet.
As Dublin's Savoy Cinema was awash with Hollywood and homegrown talent for the much anticipated premiere of Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, Ferrell joked that he would be attending a yoga class after the party, rather than celebrating at the after-party.
He was joined by castmates Paul Rudd and Steve Carell for one of the biggest premieres of the year, which saw Irish actress Aoibhinn McGinnity, tv presenter Colette Fitzpatrick and top model Roz Purcell among the familiar faces in attendance.
Earlier in the night, they surprised fans on a movie-themed pub crawl with an appearance at Toners Pub on Baggot Street.
Tonight's premiere tickets are the social equivalent of gold dust as homegrown stars hope to mingle with some of Hollywood's elite.
Ferrell has shown an affinity for Ireland in recent years, making several trips and pencilling in an Irish premiere date.
Film bosses also included legendary newsreader Anne Doyle in the opening segment of the sequel trailer.
