those precious moments . . .
Alice Taylor's classic account of growing up in the Irish countryside, To School Through the Fields, is still the biggest-selling book ever published in Ireland.
Since it appeared in 1988 she has written more than a dozen other books, both memoirs and novels.
Taylor (right) is 74, and her latest book, And Time Stood Still, is another memoir, centred on the important people in her life who have passed away.
She remembers her husband, father and mother, a beloved sister, a brother and others. She tells how she coped with the emptiness when they died, of the difficulty of moving on with life after such loss when, for her, time stood still.
The book is about grief, but it is also a celebration of life's precious moments.
