Review: Slash and Burn by Colin Cotterill
Laotian coroner Dr Siri Paiboun has bagged himself and his nearest and dearest an all-expenses paid holiday in the remote northern mountains of his beautiful if war-ravaged country.
They are assisting a US-funded search for CIA pilot Boyd Bowry, missing since his aircraft was downed a few years before in 1968.
But Siri soon realises he and his friends are in trouble -- something big is happening that involves corruption at high levels in both the US and his own communist regime. What's more, a reputable psychic tells him he's about to die.
Another enjoyable episode in the adventurous life of this coroner.
