Review: Shelter by Harlan Coben

This is the first in a series written for teenagers from Harlan Coben, one of the acknowledged masters of the modern thriller.
Mickey Bolitar (who Coben fans will remember from the recent Live Wire) is 15. He lost his parents in a mysterious accident, and now lives with his father's brother Myron.
Never having lived in America, high school is a challenging proposition, but Ashley, a new girlfriend, eases his transition.
When Ashley disappears, Mickey follows her trail into a seedy underworld that suggests Ashley was not all she claimed to be. Mickey's amateur investigations land him and his uncle Myron in danger. Older folk will love this cracking new series, too.
