O'Connor's colourful palette will catch any eye

IF Daniel Day Lewis is our film star of the year, Eoin O'Connor is our artist of the year. He made a huge splash recently when he painted a portrait of Daniel for the Lincoln charity auction in January.
Daniel signed it and the portrait sold for €16,000 on the night, the second highest sale in the Burlington.
O'Connor's palette is loaded with strong powerful colours reminiscent of the heady days of the boom and his subject matter is inspired by Irish landscape, seascape and the traditional farm yard.
His architectural background allows him to draw in an extremely assured manner – a strong basis for all of his compositions. Eoin's prints can be bought on greeting cards and homeware goods too. He sells in 40 outlets around Ireland including Arnotts and Kilkenny shops and last November he became the official artist of Leinster Rugby. Here's to this rising star. www.eoinoconnor.com
