Man with a secret past
The Woman Not The Name tells the story of Will, a 21-year-old songwriter and amateur boxer from Cork, a young man with a secret past. In 2004, Will is living in Dublin and gets involved with Maeve, a solicitor who spots him singing in a pub.
Among the people Will meets are a junior civil servant, an art teacher in NCAD, a Brown Thomas window dresser, the manager of a boy band, and an exhausted medical student.
It's Dublin in the Noughties and there is lots of drink and drugs, with things coming to a head at a summer birthday party in Dalkey and a murder trial in the Four Courts.
Described as a dark yet comic love story, The Woman Not The Name fuses a modern moral tale set in Dublin with the ancient myth of Orpheus.
