If there's one thing we here at the Pleasure List like, it's something free.
The Arts Council has been supporting artists in Ireland since 1952, and in celebration it has produced a huge tome. To coincide with the book, Into the Light, there's a series of exhibitions happening across the country, with free admission to each.
This beautifully illustrated book highlights more than 100 works of Irish art in all sorts of media like mixed media, paint and photography.
Prints from Cecil King and Tim Booth feature, as well as work by Tim Goulding and Patrick Scott. Crawford Art Gallery's exhibition in Cork runs until February 23, the showcase in the Hugh Lane in Dublin runs until February 24 and The Model in Sligo keeps its presentation running until March 24. www.artscouncil.ie
