Is Harry and Ginny's marriage over? JK Rowling's website crashes after she posts update on beloved wizard Harry Potter's life
Almost seven years after we heard the last of Harry Potter’s adventure, JK Rowling has written an update on the beloved wizard’s life.
There is also an update on Harry's fellow Hogwarts students.
Rowling posted the story to her website Pottermore which crashed this morning from the volume of online traffic wanting to find out what Harry did next.
The award-winning author wrote from the perspective of gossip columnist character Rita Skeeter in the Daily Prophet.
‘Skeeter’ writes that Harry is now in this thirties and sports ’a couple of threads of silver’ in his hair and a mysterious cut on cheek, which Skeeter speculates in true tabloid-fashion could be the result of a bust-up with his wife. He is married to best friend Ron Weasley’s sister, Ginny Potter, who is working as a journalist.
“Are cracks beginning to show in a union that the Potters are determined to promote as happy?” reads the story.
Harry is working as an Auror which is a specialist officers trained to apprehend the evil Dark Wizards.
Ron is married to Hermione Granger, and his ‘famous ginger hair appears to be thinning slightly’.
The three famous friends worked in the Ministry of Magic, before Ron left to begin his career as an entrepreneur and ‘co-manage the highly successful wizarding joke emporium Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes’, the family's joke shop.
Always bound to be successful, Hermione is the deputy head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement.
Neville Longbottom is a popular Herbology teacher at the gang's former school and is married to Hannah.
Meanwhile, Luna Lovegood is married to Newt Scamander’s grandson, Rolf, and they have twin boys.
Loved-up Bill Weasley remains happily married to Fleur Delacour.
Rowling has posted a series of Quidditch World Cup pieces online to coincide with the soccer in Brazil, but this is the first time she has written about the famous wizarding friends as adults since the final Harry Potter book.
