"I was lucky enough to get to photograph Seamus Heaney in 2010 at the launch of Library Ireland Week.
I set up a little studio off to one side at the Wood Quay venue and when Mr Heaney stepped on to the backdrop my heart was beating, I knew I had to be quick as he was on his way to make a speech.
I took one shot as a test and was happy with how the light was hitting him. I only took another four or five frames and this is one of them.
People like him have a certain way about them, I think it's different to charisma, a twinkle in the eye, it's difficult to describe – genius, magic."
