He may be emerging from the ashes of his defeat to Nate Diaz at the weekend, but Conor McGregor has dusted himself off and is encouraging others to follow their dreams.

The MMA star is the face of this year's Budweiser Dream Big competition offering one person and their best mate the chance to win an American dream worth €50,000.

The competition is open to over 18s and the prize also includes mentorship from experts and travel to places related to their particular dream.

"Never give up on your dream," says Conor.  "Be your own inspiration, a beacon of self-belief.  Keep proving others wrong.  If your dream doesn't scare you then it's not big enough so dream as big as you dare."

He adds, "I do believe it's very important to have dreams, not just to have dreams but it's important to recognise what is your dream and what you're passionate about.  Passion shines through."

For anyone interested in entering the competition, he says, "Show up, speak passionately abowhere you want to go, who you want to meet.

"The person with the most passion and most dedication to their craft, that will shine through."

Those interested in applying can share their dream via www.BudDreamBig.ie before 11:59pm on Sunday 24 April 2016.

A judging panel will select a shortlist of five finalists who will go forward to the final round and then a public vote will decide the winner.  That person will be revealed by Conor McGregor on American Independence Day, July 4, and they'llhead off to the States to make their dream a reality.
