Have you been wittering on about the features of the new iPhone X this morning without a thought as to how it is pronounced?

It seems there is some confusion over the pronunciation with many people assuming the X is pronounced as X the letter.

It is in fact pronounced as 'ten' as X is the Roman numeral for 10.

Part of the problem may be that there's no iPhone 9.

So now you know.

It's a bit like pronouncing Zara as Za-ra when it is actually pronounced 'dzah-da'.  Yes, really.

And Rihanna is not 'Ree-AH-na' but 'Ree-Anna'.

We'll be here all day.
