You can now sleep in the same bed as the late Joe Dolan and Charles Haughey once slept in
You can now buy a bed that the late Joe Dolan and Charles Haughey once slept in at The Fairways Hotel auction.
The iconic Louth hotel closed in January 2015, after unsuccessful attempts were made to get a liquor licence for the premises. It will soon host a clearance auction to sell some key items.
The hotel boasted a nightclub and function room and hosted acts such as Aslan, Christy Moore, Joe Dolan, The Three Amigos, Tommy Fleming and Dickie Rock.
“We will be auctioning off all 33 bedrooms, beds, a lot of famous people stayed in these bedrooms, from Charlie Haughey, to Joe Dolan and Dickie Rock," Jimmy Cumiskey of Euro Antiques told the Dundalk Democrat.
But beds aren't the only thing you can get your hands on. The hotel will also auction off items such as chandeliers, stained glass windows, tables, benches, mirrors, safes, lamps, sinks, toilet cubicles and "much, much more".
The clearance auction takes place on Saturday, October 1 from 10am until 3pm at The Fairways Hotel.
