Would you stick your arm through a hole to get a mystery tattoo? These people did
For most people having control over how their tattoo will look is integral to the process, but 25 brave souls this week relinquished all control to a celebrity tattoo artist.
Scott Campbell, who is married to Lake Bell and has inked stars including Josh Hartnett and Orlando Bloom, offered to tattoo strangers for free as part of his new Whole Glory project.
The only catch was they had to slip their arm through a hole in a wall and let him ink their arms with no prior information about the design.
The participants were chosen through a lottery and Campbell told the New York Times, "I think there is a bit of magic there in the exchange, the drawing-a-card-out-of-the-deck dynamic."
Campbell wanted to do the project because it's so rare for an artist to have free reign on someone's skin.
The tattoos varied in style although were all roughly about the same size - covering most of the participants' forearms.
Campbell posted all of the tattoos to his Instagram page with the caption, "Thank you for your confidence."
