WATCH: Wakeboarding in UCD lake? This lad mastered it
Now here's something you don't see every day.
David O'Caoimh, a former UCD student, returned to his alma mater to take on a risky challenge: wakeboarding on the UCD lake.
"I went to UCD for a year and whenever I was walking past the lake, myself and the lads always joked about [wakeboarding on it] but we knew it would be way too risky," he told Independent.ie.
"Then I was back there recently and I had a proper scope of the place and decided it was 100 percent possible. So I got organising and went for it."
If you're thinking this was just a once-off, high-level set-up, you'd be wrong. This isn't the first time O'Caoimh has taken his board to an unlikely spot.
"I've done a few unusual places, the best being the Dun Laoghaire Lexicon in February and then the River Lee in Cork when burst its banks in December.
"Thankfully I've never got in too much trouble, sometimes the security guards can get a bit annoyed, but they're just doing their jobs, and at the end of the day, I'm not causing any harm or danger to anyone... only entertainment, I hope."
