WATCH: 'That's 100% not R Kelly' - R Kelly sings to drunk guy to prove he’s really R Kelly
It must be tough to be famous (or infamous) and recognised all the time, but it must be even tougher when you're not recognised - or your identity is denied.
R Kelly experienced the latter recently on a night out in Florida and was forced to sing to prove he really was the disgraced, alleged paedophile, and R&B artist R Kelly.
Kelly was buying food at Nathan's hot dog stand in Jacksonville, Florida when a white man, who appeared to have imbibed some alcohol, declared that the man standing before him buying a hot dog was not actually R Kelly.
"That's 100 percent not R Kelly," he said, pointing directly at R Kelly.
R Kelly began singing his 90s hit, Bump and Grind, "My mind's telling me no/but my body my body's telling me ye he hes...".
Everyone seemed impressed, apart from the drunk white guy. He had bet $100 it was not R Kelly, so he kept insisting that R Kelly was not R Kelly.
He began singing Bump and Grind himself, perhaps in an effort to prove that anyone can sing it.
“Oh my body, my body is telling me that I’m white,” he said, tweaking the lyrics slightly.
