WATCH: Foo Fighters 'Rick Roll' Westboro Baptist Church outside of concert

Independent.ie Newdesk

The Foo Fighters have once again cemented their status as the coolest guys in music after they epically trolled the Westboro Baptist Church.

The Westboro Baptist Church are a right-wing Christian group that regularly picket the funerals of dead soldiers and gay weddings.

They were in the middle of a hate-filled protest outside the Sprint Centre, In Kansas City in the US when Foo Fighters rolled up to 'rick roll' them.

'Rick Rolling' is an internet phenomenon that involves surprising people with Rick Astley's cheesy classic hit - Never Gonna Give You Up.

Dave Grohl and his bandmates held signs saying "You just got Rick Rolled".

The Foo Fighters were joined in seconds by a huge group of fans who screamed and sang along with the tune, drowning out the Church's protest, before they drove off into the sunset.
